Here at Watercolours in Spain we are pleased to announce an extension to our activities. You can now enjoy a weekend painting break with fine food in the lovely and historic town of Aldeburgh, on the Suffolk coast, where you can learn to paint or improve your existing skills.
These will begin in July 2010, and will run at intervals throughout the Summer.
Aldeburgh is a very pretty town, with many attractions. Not least is the famous Aldeburgh Music Festival, established originally by Benjamin Britten and Peter Pears, which takes place every June/July, as well as the Aldeburgh Proms which take place in August. The town is full of interesting architecture, and has a charm all of its own. It owns several nationally acclaimed restaurants, an award winning delicatessen and numerous boutiques. Along the sea front are several shacks owned and run by local fishermen, where you can buy the catch of the day. A short walk along the beach and you will find the famous scallop, a large bronze sculpture by Maggie Hambling celebrating the work of Benjamin Britten.
